Shirley Marie Phillips

Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for Shirley Marie Phillips, 70. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 10:15 am on Saturday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday. Fr. Donovan Labbe will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. With the union of the late Joseph "Papa Joe" Phillips and Malena Ebow came the first child on June 22, 1945 named Shirley Marie Phillips. Shirley departed this life on November 13, 2015 at her home in Parks, LA. She was a devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of St. Louis Chapel in Parks, where she was a member of the St. Louis Altar Society. She leaves to mourn and cherish, her son, Ryan J. Jeanbaptiste and his spouse Rachel Jeanbaptiste and their two daughters, Alyssa and Jessica Jeanbaptiste, of Anaheim, CA; her daughter, Erica M. Jeanbaptiste Cooper and her spouse Roy A. Cooper of Yorba Linda, CA and their son Roy A. Cooper, Jr. of Pearl Harbor, HI.; and her siblings, Dorothy Broussard of Parks, Anna Marie Cormier and her spouse Ludger, and Josephine Cormier and her spouse Wilray, both of St. Martinville, LA, Paul Phillips of Lafayette, LA, Bernadette Jeanminette of Grand Marais, LA, and Melinda Faye Huger and her spouse Michael, of South Augusta, SC. She was devoted to her family and cherished all her nieces and nephew, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph "Papa Joe" and Malena Ebow Phillips; and her brother-in-law, James Elvis Jeanminette. Pallbearers will be Taylor Phillips, Olis Broussard III, David Richard, Marcus Cormier, Paul Phillips Jr., and Jamar Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Roddrick Broussard, Wilray Cormier, Ludger Cormier, Michael Hugher, Richard Gregory, and Joseph Dauphine.
