Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM , Saturday, July 31, 2010 , at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia , for Shirley Romero, 75, who passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery . Rev. Mark Gondron will officiate. Born on May 28, 1935 , Mrs. Romero was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She enjoyed crafts, plants, cooking, and landscaping. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Eddie Romero of New Iberia; son, Robert Romero of New Iberia; daughter, Cherie Gay of New Iberia; brothers, Roger McClain of Tucson, Arizona; David McClain of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Linda Atkins Thibodeaux and husband Beau of New Iberia, Capri Gay and husband Quentin Louviere of New Iberia, Blake Edward Romero of Loreauville, Brandon Joseph Domingue of New Iberia, Brylan Domingue of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Brettney-Gail Atkins Thibodeaux, Keigen Robert Thibodeaux, Baylin James Louviere, Ashton Micah Louviere, and Rachel Romero. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mildred Labrae McClain; sisters, Alice McClain and Helen Gould. Pallbearers will be Robert Romero, Beau Thibodeaux, Quentin Louviere, Brandon Domingue, Leonard Romero, Jr., and Blake Romero. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia .
