St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Church in Coteau Holmes for Shirley Sedatol Mayon Chatagnier, 74, who passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville from 1:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:30 am until 9:15 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Carmen Judice. Gift bearers will be Jacques Lassiegne, Jr. and Daniel Quintas.Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes.Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother – her family was her life. As a pastime, she enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, and tending to her fish ponds. She is survived by her husband, Lynn Chatagnier, Sr.; daughters, Karen Simon, Sandy Horton (Johnny) and Tonia Case (Jerry); daughter in-law, Tammy Mayon; brothers, Mack Sedatol (Barbara) and Cal Sedatol (Donna); sister, Maryann Pelous; grandchildren, Johnny Horton Jr. (Crystal), Brittany Horton, Tyler Aaron Simon, Trislyn Mayon, Taitlyn Mayon, Randin Mayon, Kamrie Case, Jerry Case, III, Christian Chatagnier, Alexander Chatagnier, Daniel Quintas, Rochelle Romero and Jacob Romero; 11 great grandchildren; and step sons, Lynn "T-Lynn" Chatagnier Jr. (Monica), Wydell Chatagnier (Rose) and Cort Chatagnier (Barbara).She was preceded in death by her late husband, Rogers Joseph Mayon; sons, Randy and Robby Mayon; parents, Dewey and Cecile Allemon Sedatol; sister, Genevieve Rita Arnaud; brothers, Clinton, Henry, Clint and Ernest Sedatol.
