Sidney O. Guidry

Cecilia- Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2006, 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Sidney O. Guidry, 82, who died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Lafayette Care Center. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. The readers will be Emily and Hannah Huval. Mr. Guidry was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Sophie Thomassee Guidry of Cecilia; his son, Robert Keith Guidry and his wife, Tina of Cecilia; his daughter, Jennifer Thomas and her husband, Paul of Katy, TX, and Elizabeth Huval and her husband, Hansel of New Orleans; his sisters, Susan Guidry Zimmerman of New Orleans and Jeanne Guidry Kidder of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Christopher Gabriel Guidry, Daniel Jonathan Guidry, Hannah Elizabeth Huval, Emily Ann Thomas, Hailey Olivia Thomas, Sophie Evelyn Thomas, and Sidney Gabriel Guidry; and one great grandchild, Laityn Gabriel Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oniphore and Elia Hebert Guidry; six brothers; and two sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Paul Thomas, Gabriel Guidry, Daniel Guidry, Kenneth Guidry, Shane Dauphine, and Chuck Zimmerman. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
