Sidney Noel

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Sidney Noel, 86, who died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at his residence. Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Noel was a sharecropper and laborer, and then retired as a custodian from St. Martin Parish School Board. He enjoyed riding his bike and watching baseball. He was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver and served as an usher at church. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Noel of Beaumont, TX; his sons, Michael Noel of Lafayette and Arthur James Noel of Atlanta, GA; step sons, Curtis Martin of Galveston, TX and Christopher Martin of Washington, D.C.; his daughter, Margaret Noel Charles of Breaux Bridge; step daughter, Paulanne Martin of Beaumont, TX; his step brother, Willie Jones of Houston, TX; his half-sister, Theresa Randall of St. Martinville; and several grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raoul and Ezita Noel; his former wife, Hilda Noel; and an infant son. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm on Friday and continue at 7:00 am on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Carver and Dauterive Street is in charge of arrangements.
