New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia for Sidney Lionel Pecot, who died on Monday, October 30, 2006 at his residence in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery - Mausoleum in New Iberia.
Rev. Salvino "Ruben" Primor, associatate pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church will conduct the service.
Mr. Pecot was a graduate of Jesuit High School and attended Loyola University in New Orleans. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army from 1940 - 1945. While he was in the Army, he was stationed in Europe with the 156th infantry as the Message Center Chief.
Mr. Pecot was the owner of Pecot Appliances, the first business establishment on East Admiral Doyle Drive.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Chaussis Pecot of New Iberia; two sons, Wayne Pecot and his wife, Jean, of New Iberia, and Kirby Pecot and his wife, Kay, of Lafayette; two daughters, Diane Marcantel and her husband, Carey of Oberlin, LA and Janet Pecot of Ann Arbor, MI; one sister, Emmy Lou Brugier of Mandeville, LA; and three grandchildren, Ryan Pecot and Bradley Pecot, both of Lafayette and Jeanne Marcantel of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rita Ann Pecot; two brothers, Howard and Clifford Pecot; and three sisters, Nina Pecot, Eloise Siegl, and Euphemie Johnson.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 and continue until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
