Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Sim A. Armentor, 82 who died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Coteau at his home surrounded by his family. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery . Rev. Barry Crochet will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Toby Armentor and Denise Patout. Gift Bearers include Misti Segura and Brandi Derouen. Born on August 10, 1928 , Mr. Armentor worked as a machinist for Casting Welding and Repair Service for over 20 years, and also as a deputy sheriff for the Iberia Parish Sheriff Department with 18 years of service. He enjoyed dancing, riding horses, and growing his vegetable garden, especially okra, which he shared with everyone. A former member of the Knights of Columbus, Mr. Armentor was a volunteer at the St. Francis Diner, and a member of CFMA. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elsie Breaux Armentor of Coteau; sons, Sim J. Armentor and wife Kerry, Bill Armentor and wife Debbie, Keith Armentor and wife Patty, Farrell Armentor and friend, Kyle Cartimiglia, all of New Iberia; daughter, Michelle A. Patton and husband Scott of Decatur, Texas; twin brother, Simon Armentor and wife Joyce of New Iberia, brothers, Lloyd Armentor and wife Anna Lee, of Coteau, Donald Armentor and wife June, of Coteau; sister, Lena Fitch of Jeanerette; 10 grandchildren, Craig, Ryan, Toby, Beau, Brandi, Misti, Keith, Nicholas, Jarod, and Michael; 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent and Eunice Fremin Armentor; brothers, Perfice Armentor, Fulton Armentor, Rene Armentor, and Allen Armentor; sisters, Edith Myers, Lily Hammonds, Solange LeBlanc, Nola Bodin, and Vernette Segura. Pallbearers will be Sim J. Armentor, Bill Armentor, Keith Armentor, Farrell Armentor, Scott Patton, Lloyd Armentor, and Donald Armentor. Honorary pallbearers will be his twin brother, Simon, and his grandsons. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 2:30 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday.
