Solon Roger Taylor

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Solon Roger Taylor, 73, who passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Allen Breaux will officiate at the funeral service. Mr. Taylor was retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a man of many skills, who enjoyed growing roses and spending time with his wife of 35 years, Barbara, and his family and friends. Solon adored his two grandchildren; they always brought him joy and a great deal of pride in his life. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Doucet Taylor, of Breaux Bridge; his son, Andrew Taylor, of Loreauville; his daughter, Nicole Taylor, of Breaux Bridge; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Gracie Warren, of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Vonia Haselhofer of California, and Jan Anderson of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Crystal Sandlin Taylor; and a brother, Dennis Taylor.and his sister, Minnie Anne Pippins. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 2: 45 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Michael Angelle, Terry Doucet, Nicholas Doucet, Andrew Taylor, John Rougeau, and John Delcambre. Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Warren. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
