Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, in Coteau for Stanley Lopez, 92, who died Thursday, July 17, 2008 in Broussard. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Barry Crochet will be the Celebrant. A native of Cade, Mr. Lopez retired from Bruce's Foods as a bookkeeper, and was a member and past secretary of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling and gardening. Survivors include his sister, Fern Lopez Geoffroy of Coteau; nieces and nephews, Linda Wilder and husband Mike of Alexandria, Clyde Geoffroy and wife Elaine of Houston, Vickie Boatright and husband Glen of Coteau, and Ward Geoffroy and wife Tracie of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Clemire and Angela Fremin Lopez; brother-in-law, Felton Geoffroy. Pallbearers will be Clyde Geoffroy, Ward Geoffroy, Mike Wilder, Glen Boatright, Christopher Segura, Troy Geoffroy. Honorary pallbearers include Colby Segura, Sky Geoffroy, Brad Hunt, and Dusty Hunt. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Friday.
