St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Stanley Frederick, 86, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:30 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the funeral service.
Stanley, better known as "Nonc Joe", was born in St. Martinville to the late Gilbert and Norma Touchete Frederick. Stanley was a long time employee for the City of St. Martinville. He was a man with many hobbies such as fishing, raising chickens, playing his guitar, riding his bicycle, and having a passion for music. In his later years, he was perfectly content taking care of his yard and working his puzzle books under the shaded tree in his front yard. Stanley always enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his family. He loved his grandchildren dearly. Nonc Joe will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 63 years, Judie Breaux Frederick; sons, Mark A. Frederick and fiancé Brittney, and Brent Frederick; daughters, Wanda Laperouse and husband Lynn, Janet Frederick, and Leslie Frederick Middleton and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Kimberlie Delahoussaye and spouse Bryan, Trent Resweber, Austin Frederick, Bria Frederick, Ethan Frederick, and Ensley Frederick; great grandchildren, Amber Delahoussaye and Kyrie Jones; and his brother, Gilbert Frederick, Jr. and wife Gail.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Frederick, Sr.; mother, Norma Touchete Frederick; and his sister, Mary Lou Frederick Castille.
Pallbearers will be Mark A. Frederick, Trent Resweber, Patrick Middleton, Lynn Laperouse, Bryan Delahoussaye, and Michael Bryant.
Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Frederick, Ethan Frederick, and Buck Wiltz.
