VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, October 24, 2008, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Stephen Berard, 80 who passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Reverend Fr. Louis Allen Breaux will officiate at the funeral Mass. Mr. Berard and his wife, Lillie, were married for 59 beautiful years. He was a Tugboat Captain and Leverman, having worked for Williams-McWilliams, Inc. and Zapata, Inc., retiring in 1992 after 45 years of loyal and dedicated service to his employers. He loved spending time with his family and friends and going to the horse races. Survivors include his loving wife, Lillie Mae Latiolais Berard, of Henderson; his two sons, Ron J. Berard and his wife, Michelle, of New York, NY, and Shelby J. Berard and his wife, Agnes, of Sunset, LA; a daughter, Stephanie Berard, of Arnaudville; four brothers, Antoine "Tan" Berard, of Breaux Bridge, John C. "J.C." Berard, of Cecilia, Alton "Tiff" Berard, of Breaux Bridge, and Dr. Michael Berard, of Lafayette; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amedie and Noelie Trahan Berard; a brother, Allen "Fromag" Berard; and a sister, Rose Berard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Ron J. Berard, Shelby J. Berard, Jonathan Berard, Brandon Berard, Rhushion Hebert, Jr., and Travis Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Berard, J. C. Berard, and Antoine "Tan" Berard. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
