Born on November 2, 1953, he was a graduate of Catholic High School Class of 1972. He attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana from 1972 through 1975. Using his education, he spent his life building his business career in Iberia Parish. He was the President of Iberia Crew Boat & Marine Service, a company he founded in 1975. The company now operates under a joint venture agreement with Seatran Marine. The company operates thirteen offshore vessels many of them built by the family shipyard in Loreauville. In 1992, Steve founded and served as president of Miguez Fuel and Lubricants. The business is now the authorized distributor of Phillip 66 lubricants for Louisiana and has locations in New Iberia and Baton Rouge.

Besides being a prominent businessman, Steve loved participating in competitive pistol shooting. He achieved the classification ranking of master shooter in the United States Practical Association. He traveled to many competitions with his beloved sons, Blake and Ridge, competing in matches held across the United States. His accomplishments also included: World Shoot XVII (2014) in Frostproof, Florida where he and his team placed second bringing home silver medals for the United States Senior Standard Team; World Shoot XV (2008) in Bali, Indonesia where he and his team place third place bringing home bronze medals for the United States Senior Standard Team; World Shoot (2011) in Rhodes, Greece competing with the United States Senior Team. Steve’s passion for the sport was the main driving inspiration for one of his proudest moments, watching his son Blake win the World Title and Gold medal for the United States in Greece (2011). While traveling the world with his son Blake, Steve competed in three world shoots. He traveled with his family to South Africa, Thailand, Bali, Indonesia, Ecuador, Greece, France and the United States while Blake competed in seven world shoots.

His competitive shooting allowed him to be part of various clubs and organizations. Steve was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association of America; lifetime benefactor member of the United States Practical Shooting Association; Cajun Action Shooters Club (being a former president); certified range officer for the United States Practical Shooting Association; and reserve deputy of the Iberia Parish Sheriff Department.

Steve loved traveling with his beloved wife. They traveled across the United States and the world creating a lifetime of memories. Their adventurous spirit led them to places that others dream of visiting.

Steve enjoyed many hobbies always adding new ones. He became successful at winemaking, cooking cane syrup and gathering apples from his tree to make his delicious pies. Many gatherings were held with family and friends to enjoy his skills.

Being a Louisiana native, he enjoyed what the state had to offer. He enjoyed nature from boating, fishing and hunting with family and friends. Steve loved reloading ammunition for his competitive matches for himself and his sons.
