Lafayette - A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Crossroads Church in Lafayette for Steven V. Venable, 57, who passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Pastor Jeff Ables will officiate at the Memorial Service. Steve loved life. His faith in Jesus was inspiring to everyone around him and he was a great mentor for many in his life and church community. He was an avid football fan and the Breaux Bridge Tigers #1 fan. He loved his country having served in the U.S. Navy. He could always be found in a crowd where all you had to do was look for his Tie-dye. He was the owner of Steve Venable Plumbing, LLC where he had many loyal employees who were his family and helped him run the company that he loved. He enjoyed traveling and exploring with his fun-loving wife and adored spending time with his precious grandchildren. He made this world a better place with his positive outlook on life. He is survived by his wife, Robin L. Venable; two sons, Robert Venable and wife Karen and David Venable and wife Callie; one daughter, Elizabeth Venable; two stepsons, Giles Guidry and Michael Guidry and his wife Ashley; one sister, Vivian Haug; five grandchildren, Jalen, Tessa, Bailey, Harper and Hailey; and many family and friends who meant so much to him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Steve’s name to Crossroads Church or Breaux Bridge Quarter Back Club. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
