Susan Farris Lassalle

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Susan Stephanie Farris Lassalle, 59, who passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Mens Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am Tuesday. A native of Thibodaux and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Lassalle was born on June 21, 1958 to the late Oren Buel Farris and Mary Nell Daire Farris. She was a 1976 graduate of Mount Carmel, in New Iberia, and a graduate of USL, now the University of Louisiana Lafayette. Mrs. Lassalle was a retired school teacher, having taught her entire career at Belle Place Middle School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of nearly 42 years, Byron Lassalle of New Iberia; daughter, Amy Lassalle DeRise and husband Chris of New Iberia; son, Byron "Ben" Lassalle and wife Erin of Erath; sister, Pam Shensky and husband Skip of New Iberia; brother, Dwayne Farris and wife Mary Beth of New Iberia; grandchildren, Thomas DeRise of New Iberia, Emma DeRise of New Iberia; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Alex Lassalle, Chris DeRise, Thomas DeRise, Matthew Shensky, Andrew Shensky, William Shensky, Jonathan Shensky, Zac Farris.
