Suzanne C. Melancon

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Suzanne C. Melancon, 67, who passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday at 7:00 am until 12:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Reverend Manny Fernandez will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Suzanne, also known as Granny, dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She lived to be there for them and with them. She treated all of her nephews as though they were her own children. She was a devout Catholic who was a member of Fr. Manny Healing Ministries and the St. Joseph's Catholic Church "Come Lord Jesus" group, Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Suzanne loved God, her family, her dog Coco, the color purple, and her New Orleans Saints, especially Marcus Colston. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her former husband, Randy Melancon; daughter, Norma Harman and the late Matthew Harman; sons, Mark Melancon and wife Kerry Angelle Melancon, Brock Melancon and wife Tennille LeBlanc Melancon; grandchildren, Brannigan and Lochlan Harman, Morgan and Scout Melancon, and Nole and Gia Melancon; sister, Gail Hebert and the late Curtis Hebert; and brother, Richard Champagne and wife Dorothy Pierret Champagne. She was preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Blanche Begnaud Champagne. Pallbearers will be Randy Hebert, Rusty Hebert, Richie Champagne, Duane Champagne, Chad Champagne, and Brody Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Champagne, Lochlan Harman, and Scout Melancon.
