New Iberia - Syprine Menard, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. Funeral services will be held at 1 :00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, with Rev. Albert Seabble officiating. Payton Romero and Lorriane Girouard will recite the scripture readings. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A scripture reading will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday. Syprine enjoyed hunting, fishing, crawfishing, listening to French music, going to church, cooking and spending time with family and friends. He also loved the Saints and watching wrestling. Survivors include wife, Gloria Lange Menard of New Iberia; son, David 'Monkey' Menard; 5 daughters, Deanna Romero, Judy (Ronald) Romero, Beverly (Bobby) Anson, Bonnie (Ronald) Robinson and Brenda Menard; 4 brothers, Harold (Bernice) Menard, Francis (Barbara) Menard, Eugene (Mary Jane) Menard and Whitney (Nell) Menard; 3 sisters, Lorriane (Bert) Girouard, Jerry Lynn (Boyd) Jones and Mazel Meyers; 16 grandchildren, Tommy Romero, Rachel Burnett, Rusty Romero, Scotty Romero, Angela DeRouen, Jennifer Price, Nicky Derouen, Shane Anson, Robbie Anson, Tabitha Prater, Rebecca Menard, Joshua Menard, Sr., Chasity Menard, Brandi Viator, Christy Boutin and Ronnie Robinson; 43 great grandchildren, Logan, McKenzie, Kyle, Teigen, Jackson, Martin, Jr., Detroyrius, Dwayne, Beau, Owen, Brennan, Madison, Conner, Bailey, Payton, Brandon, Ben, Avery, Madison, Nealy, Hope, Svannah, Lexi, Jordan, Robert, IV, Gemma, Christian, Breanna, Abigail, Drake, Caleb, Micah, Jennie, Joshua, Jr., Evan, Gage, Railey, Gavin, Kase, Landen, Amber, Raven, and Aidan; and 3 great great grandchildren, Kaden, Nyla, Elise; 3 great grandchildren on the way; and 1 ; great great ;grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Azilda Girouard Menard; his brothers, Lennis, Lloyd, Ovey 'Joe' and infant, Elvis Menard; his sisters, Theresa Myers and Evelyn Theriot; grandsons, Louis 'Boo' Romero, Dwayne Anthony Menard and infant, Shandrick Anson; and his son-in-law, Louis 'Buddy' Romero. Pallbearers will be Joshua Menard, Scotty and Rusty Romero, Ronnie Robinson, Robbie and Shane Anson.
