Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, June 13, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Tarlton ""Short"" John, 83, who passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mr. John was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he served as an Usher. ?He was a faithful member of the Rosary Group at St. Bernard Catholic Church and the True Friends Society of LaPointe. ?""Short,"" as he was better known to his family and friends, loved fishing, hunting, gardening and traveling. ?He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 wonderful years, Marjorie Francis John, of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Michael John (Betty), and Bobby John, all of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Mary Ann Anthony (Larry), of Breaux Bridge and Marsha Joseph (Christopher), of Missouri City, TX; two brothers, John John and Cassie Alexander, both of Breaux Bridge; his aunt, Alexina Barber, of Breaux Bridge; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Louisiana Thibodeaux John; a son, August Kirby Davis; a granddaughter, Elmarie Catoria John; his daughter-in-law, Linda Richard John; two uncles, Joseph John of Breaux Bridge and Victor John of Jennings; and two aunts, Electa Edmond and Martha Celestine, both of Breaux Bridge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Michael E. John, Oscar L. Hughes, III, Frank Roberts, III, DeAndre' John, Michael John, and Darrell Martinez. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
