New Iberia - Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Ted James Dore, 71, who passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
Rev. Keith Landry will be the Officiant.
Entombment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Iberia.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, and will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Thursday.
A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Ted James Dore was born on April 3, 1947 to the late Eddie E. Dore and Henrietta "Niara" Viator Dore. He was a 1965 graduate of New Iberia High School, and worked as an Electrician. He enjoyed working with his hands, and always had a new project going on around the house. His greatest joy was spending time with wife and all of his family and friends. He was a kind, loving man that will be missed by many, including his beloved dog, Susie.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Gail Firmin Dore; daughter, April Grayson and husband Kevin of Alabama; stepdaughters, Jewel Higgins and husband Jessie, and Jade Judice of New Iberia; stepdaughter-in-law, Danielle L. Judice, all of New Iberia; twin brother, Ned Dore and wife Gretchen of Lafayette; sister, Jerreline D. Belaire of Lafayette; grandchildren, Brooke and Ryan Grayson, Shaye and Saige Hebert, Dason Higgins, Jace Segura, Jaylee Perrodin, Duel J. and Dusti Judice, and Brittany Ford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Eloy J. Dore, Sr.; nephew, Eloy J. Dore, Jr.; stepson, Duel T. Judice; and a brother-in-law, Robert Belaire, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Jessie R. Higgins, Ned Dore, Saige Hebert, Eddie Dore, Andre Landry, and Robert Belaire, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Dason Higgins, Jace Segura, and Duel J. Judice.
