Terry Ruth Melancon

Breaux Bridge Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 16, 2016, for Terry Ruth Melancon, 73, who passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 am until 10 pm on Thursday, and continue on Friday at 7 am until time of service, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm on Thursday. Deacon Mitch Hebert will conduct the funeral service. Readers will be Sue Ketelers and Pat Melancon. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Terry was an artist, having sold many of her paintings. She was member of the Greensburg, Louisiana Hunting Club and the Beagle Club. She enjoyed fishing, archery, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Melancon; son, Don Martin of Lafayette; daughters, Tammy Hebert and husband Jimmy of Maurice, and Tracy LePretre and husband Brandon of Gueydan; and her grandchildren, Jacob Hebert, Derek Caldwell, Dustin Berry, Shannon Berry, Rheanna Lumia, Layton Edwards, Kindra Edwards, Terry Edwards, and Khylee Melancon; and several brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. Noal and Wilma Ruth Layton Whitaker and Phillip Whitaker, who raised her; and her daughter, Tahtia Edwards. Pallbearers will be Don Martin, Brandon LePretre, Jacob Hebert, Eric Melancon, Derek Caldwell, Dustin Berry. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
