New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday. February 2, 2013, at Living Word Christian Church, in Lake Charles, for Thelma 'Cat' Hebert Jacob, 69, who died on Monday, January 28, 2013. Interment will follow in the Prien Cemetery in Lake Charles. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Living Word Christian Church, 1639 Ryan Street, in Lake Charles. Born on April 7, 1943, Mrs. Jacob was also known as the 'The Okra Lady'. Working next to her husband in the field, she was a hard worker, and had a green thumb for everything she planted. She loved playing Bingo and going to the casino, and spending time with her family, especially her children. Mrs. Jacob loved her God and knew Him for herself. She was a simple lady, who did not need much to put a smile on her face. That was just 'Cat'. Survivors include her husband, Willis Jacob; daughters, Tammy Burke and husband Anthony of Lake Charles, Melinda Galentine and husband Anthony of New Iberia, Theresa Jones and husband Kenneth of New Iberia, Stacy Rogers and husband Antonio of Lake Charles; son, Troy Jacob and wife Linda of St. Martinville; brothers, Joe Brown and wife Rita of Parks; sister, Fannie Brown of St. Martinville; seven grandchildren, Joshua Delahoussaye, Jessica Galentine, Anthony Galentine, Jr., Brandon Mouton, Blake Rogers, Kelsey Jones, Kade Jones; six great grandchildren, Joshua Delahoussaye, Jr., Jaden Delahoussaye, Ja'Kenyon Delahoussaye, Hollie Galentine, Dillon Galentine, Brantley Mouton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Williams,; father, Theo Hebert; sister, Theresa Jacob; brother, Paul Hebert; great grandchildren, Christian Dior Delahoussaye, Grant J. Mouton; and a grandchild, Baby Jacob. Pallbearers will be Joshua Delahoussaye, Dwayne Anthony, Anthony Galentine, Eric Jacob, Brandon Mouton, and Kip Jacob.
