New Iberia - Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 15, 2015, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Theodore "Ted" Andrew Uhall, Sr., 78, who passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, New Iberia.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
Rev. Mark Derise will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia with military honors by the Iberia Veterans Honor Guard.
A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Uhall was born on August 8, 1936 in Latrobe, PA to Michael and Mary Kozendo Uhall. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 22 years of service, and as a Production Manager from the Daily Iberian after 53 years of service. Mr. Uhall enjoyed working on computers, helping people, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Janell Suire Uhall of New Iberia; children, Ted Uhall, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Breaux Bridge, Mike Uhall and wife Tessi of New Iberia, Cindy Uhall Comeaux and husband David of Lafayette, and Becky Uhall Viator of New Iberia; grandchildren, Katie Uhall of New Iberia, Janie Uhall Foco and husband Brennan of New Iberia, Tucker Viator of New Iberia, and Austin Comeaux of Lafayette; great-grandson, Colt Thomas Foco; brother, Michael Uhall and wife Shirley of Melbourne, FL, brothers-in-law, Robert Suire and wife Connie of New Iberia, LA, Nolan Bourque of New Iberia,and Ricky Suire and wife Kristi of Lafayette; sisters-in-law, Meverly Suire Landry and husband Craig of New Iberia, and Lucille Suire of San Antonio, TX.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Uhall; sisters, Anna Zahorchak, Betty Jo Uhall, Ella Usehak, Theresa Kovarich, Mary Manzulich and husband George; father-in-law, Francis Suire and wife Mary; mother-in-law, Marie Derise and husband Alton; sister-in-law, Linda Suire Bourque; brothers-in-law, Raymond Suire, and Alan Suire.
Pallbearers will be Tucker Viator, Austin Comeaux, David Comeaux, Troy Viator, Brennan Foco, Nolan Bourque, and Robert Suire.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. George Cousin, Dr. Kurt O'Brien, the LTAC Unit Nurses, Family Choice Hospice Care especially his nurses Lisa and Mona.
