Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Theresa Borel Mouton, 80, who passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019, in Lafayette.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Brian Harrington will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 8:30 am until 2:15 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am Monday.
A native and lifelong area resident, Mrs. Mouton was born on June 29, 1938 to the late Alfred and Lydia Latiolais Borel. She enjoyed going to the casino, cooking, baking, crafting, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Eugene Mouton; daughters, Debbie Monte and husband Keith of New Iberia, Tina Mouton and companion Verna Angelle of Breaux Bridge; sons, Darrell Mouton and wife Mary of Gueydan, Chip Mouton and wife Kelly of Breaux Bridge; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and a special friend, Josephine Caprito.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Burney Mouton; sister, Donna Gary; brothers, Clifton Borel, Fred Borel, Deaudonai Borel, Joe Borel, John Borel; and a granddaughter, Linzi Romero.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Romero, Sandy Mouton, Keith Monte, Ayden Romero, Drew Derouen, and Brock Conques.
Honorary pallbearers include Laythan Monte, Jax Romero, Koah Thibodeaux, and Roman Thibodaux.
