Theresa Berard Champagne

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 21, 2006, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Theresa Berard Champagne, 94, who died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church will conduct the services. Mrs. Champagne was the owner of Theresa's Restaurant for 50 years. Survivors include her two daughters, Ruby T. Josey of Breaux Bridge and Rose T. Theriot and her husband, Allen of Catahoula; three brothers, Dewey Berard of Cecilia, Maurice Berard of Breaux Bridge and Chester Berard of Cecilia; one sister, Pauline B. Savoy of Cecilia; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and her special adopted family, Linda and Larry Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge, who helped care for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Champagne; the father of her daughters, Dan Thibodeaux; her mother, Bella Berard; her brothers, William, Bennett and George Berard; and her great grandsons, T-Ron Thibodeaux and Jerard Josey. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 p.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Jody, Keith and Jake Theriot, Matt LeBlanc, Brook Theriot, and Billy Jo Josey. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of St. Agnes Nursing Home for the care they provided her over the past several years. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
