At one point in her life, Theresa worked part time alongside some of her best friends. After several years of doing that, she decided that she needed a change and began to babysit. Over a period of approximately 15 years, Theresa took care of many babies, many of whom still come to visit and called her, "Mawmaw." She loved to cook, and she began baking homemade biscuits for her grandkids and the moms she babysat for all those years. It was a weekly ritual, and she often had a full house on Thursday mornings; no one could say no.
Theresa's favorite hobby was crocheting, and she took delight in crocheting baby blankets. Practically every one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren received a baby blanket for their first babies, and she had a stack of blankets ready to be gifted to the next generation. She absolutely loved seeing the expressions on the faces of those who received them.
Her absolute favorite past-time was shopping with her sister, Dot. Every Saturday, without fail, she would meet up with her sister and shop for clothes at Stage, looking for the best bargains. Clothes were her passion.
Theresa always loved piddling in her yard and could often be seen mowing the lawn including using a push mower to cut the grass in the ditch...this occurred well into her eighties.
You could see the unconditional joy in her face whenever any of the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren or any of the kids she babysat came to visit. In her eyes there was nothing else more important.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Elaine Johnson and Kat Touchet for their loving kindness in the final weeks of her life. They would also like to thank the angels from Hospice, especially Wendy Cole for her care and concern. Last but not least, thank you to Dr. Joseph Ted Gillespie for his unselfish care for our mother.
She is survived by her sons, F. Jackie Comb (Velma) and Darrel W. Comb (Betty); grandchildren, Denise C. Fulton, Anita C. Rester, Carey Comb, Rene' Comb, Andre' Comb, S. Jacques Comb; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters Dorothy D. Guidry, Elaine D. Brasseaux (Raymond), and Shirley D. Braquet (Donald); sister-in-law Barbara M. Domingue.
She is preceded in death by her, parents, Adonis and Aurelia Begnaud Domingue; husband, J. Claude "Chock" Comb; sisters, Utah Chiasson and Marie Latiolais; brothers, Alphonse Domingue, Robert Domingue, and Lester Domingue.
