Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 20, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Theresa Ann McCormick Guidry, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, in hospice care in Panama City, FL. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 10:00 am until 12:45 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Monday. Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Theresa Ann McCormick Guidry was born on September 3, 1934, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to the parents of James and Mary Ellen (McDonough) McCormick. Theresa loved her family, loved the Holy Trinity and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She loved good food, good sweets, and an occasional Guinness; she truly celebrated life! Theresas family was most important to her and she left a legacy of love. She is survived by her nine children, John Guidry, Judy Waugaman (Jim), Jeanni BJ Knight (Jim), James Boudreaux Guidry (Dianne), Jeaux Simmons (Brian), Joan Guidry Robin (Clint), Joseph Guidry (Carol), Jerri Borke (Mike), and Alesone Jennifer MacCormack; 44 grandchildren, Jessica Foley (Chris), Jamie Merando (Jay), Jacqueline Jarrell (Lloyd), Jessica Artis (Hackney), Jeffrey Knight (Shizu), Dannielle Booth (Dustin), Jerri-rae Knight, Jodi Jarrett, Jerri Joy Shreffler (Rafe), Angela Guidry, Jenelle Branom (Ron), Joleen Baker (Josh), Jonathan Schellhammer, Nicholas Guidry (Kay), Kyle Robin (Amber), John Robert Guidry, Steven Rynard (Kayla), Joshua Simmons (Lauren), Daniel Schexnaydre, Jessie Megan Simmons, Joellen Hirschey, Jackie Chavez (Douglas), Kelsey Jo Guidry, Brigit Hirschey, Kaylin Richard, Gavin Borke, McKayla Blayne Hirschey, Hunter Richard, Joseph James Guidry, and Jarrett Guidry, 29 great-grandchildren brought her much joy, Colby, Camden, Aniyaa, Trey, CeCe, Harper, Brooke, Thomas, Camryn, Ashley, Jack, Bryce, Brayden, Isabella, Sakura, William, Jullian, Jimmy, JJ, Dorian, Drestan, Blake, Ty, Taylor, James, Hannah, Ella, Bailey, Rylin, and one great-grandchild on the way; brother Thomas McCormick (LeeAnn); and sisters Mary Eidemiller (Jerry) and Catherine Cookie Pastor. She was preceded in death by her husband John Guidry; parents James and Mary Ellen (McDonough) McCormick; and brothers, Jim, Danny, Jack and Roger McCormick. Pallbearers will be Theresas sons and sons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
