VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Theresa Escoyne Lasseigne, 79, who passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Rev. Donald Pelous, Pastor of St. Rita Church, will conduct the services. Scriptures will be read by Anne Escoyne. Gift Bearers will be Robin Melancon and Hayden Morvant. Mrs. Theresa was always surrounded by her family who loved her unconditionally, but her joy in life was taking care of her grandchildren and being a part of their lives. She enjoyed working puzzles, sewing and her most favorite holiday was Halloween. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her son, Wayne Patrick Lasseigne (Gladys) of New Iberia; her daughters, Mazel Vicknair of Catahoula, Lena Morvant of Catahoula, and Sherry Romero (Walter) of Henderson; her brothers, Bernard Escoyne (Martha) of Henderson and Bennet Escoyne (Anne) of Breaux Bridge; her sister Gloria Daspit (Conrade) of Catahoula; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary Jane R. Escoyne; her husband, Patrick Lasseigne; her son, Dean Lasseigne; her daughter; Annette Lasseigne; her grandsons, Sye Allemond and Larry Melancon, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Nicole Melancon. The family requests that visiting hours at Dion Church Hall in Catahoula be observed from 11:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited by Anne Escoyne at 7 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Troy, Willie, Michael, Gage and Grant Morvant, and Dillon Lasseigne. Honorary pallbearers will be Rammie Melancon and Robin Melancon. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
