Thomas Peter Ambroise

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Thomas Peter Ambroise, 78, who passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016, at New Iberia Manor North. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until time of services on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Friday. Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Joseph Walter Pickney and Mary Ethel "EB" Darby. Gift bearers will be Juliette Alexander, Patrice Ambroise, and Betty James. Interment will follow at Union Baptist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Ambroise enjoyed watching the news, football, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. During his free time, he liked going to the Council of Aging in Breaux Bridge to play Bingo with people throughout the community, talking on the phone, and listening to Zydeco music. His most memorial moments were spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. He is survived by his daughter, Fannie Marie Ambroise Edwards of Houston, TX; sister, Marion Ambroise Francis and husband Calden of St. Martinville; and grandchildren, Patrice Ambroise and Thomas Adams, both of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lasseigne Ambroise and Lawrence Ambroise, Sr.; daughter, Yvette Adams; sisters, Corita Bobb, Rita Kerlegan, and Thelma Hypolite; brothers, Clonie Ambroise, Lawrence Ambroise, Jr., and Edward Ambroise; and a grandchild, DJ Edwards. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Hypolite Jr., Calden Francis Jr., Michael Francis, Jonathon Ambroise, Merlin Francis, David Bobb, and Larry Kerlegan. Honorary pallbearers will be Calden Francis Sr., Gerald Collins, David Willis, Robert Batiste, Issac Bobb III, Walter Pickney, Harry Kerlegan, Jarvis Francis, Kennedy Ambroise, and Junius Adams Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home, (337-394-9121), is in charge of arrangements.
