Thomas "Boy" D. 'Boy' Guidry, Jr.

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Thomas D. Guidry, Jr., 83, who passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015, at his home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 9:00 am until 10:45 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Dustin Dought will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Libby Franklin Koepke and Courtney Guidry. Gift Bearers will be Kristie Carline and Emily Carline. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. He was known to many as "Boy" Guidry and "Pop" to his family. Tom served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and after graduated from Southwestern Louisiana Institute (ULL) in 1959. He was an accountant/general manager with Ralph's Electronics for 20 years and was able to enjoy an early retirement. His hobbies included woodworking and creating unique pieces for his family and friends which he affectionately stamped with "Pop Art". He loved spending time saltwater and freshwater fishing, and enjoyed hunting with Pelba Hunting Club and Indian Bayou Hunting Club, where he served terms as President. Tom was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving spouse of 63 years, Rena Guidry; three daughters, Kathryn G. Franklin and husband, Duard, Lynne G. Carline and husband, William, and Nancy G. Quebedeaux and husband, Dorsey; two sons, Michael T. Guidry and wife, Lori, and Gene E. Guidry and wife, Theresa; four granddaughters, Kristie Lynne Carline, Emily Kate Carline, Libby Franklin Koepke and husband, John, and Courtney Maria Guidry; and his grandson, Thomas James Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas D. Guidry, Sr. and Therese Angelle Guidry; his brother, Jesse J. Guidry; and his sister, Elizabeth L. Castille. Pallbearers will be Michael Guidry, Gene Guidry, Thomas J. Guidry, Duard Franklin, Kim Hebert, and John Koepke. Honorary pallbearers will be Dorsey Quebedeaux and William Carline.
