St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 2, 2005, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Thomas Ernest Lovas,83, who died Friday, April 29, 2005 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Lovas was a member of the Louisiana Peace officers Association and the Louisiana State Troopers Association. Survivors include his wife Lorraine Chataignier Lovas of St. Martinville; his sons Thomas Lovas II and his wife Barbara of Slidell, Brian Lovas of St. Martinville and Rev. John Lovas and his wife Barbara of River Ridge, LA; his Daughters Anne Lovas Pellerin and her husband Darryl of St. Martinville, Lorna Lovas Heintz and her husband David of St. Martinville and Sheila Lovas Menard of St. Martinville, LA; his 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Jacob Lovas; his mother Lelia Beslin Lovas; his sister Loula Lovas Bernard; The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 AM, Sunday, May 1, 2005 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2005 Pellerin Funeral Homes of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
