Henderson - A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson, for Thomas Ray Martin, 52, who died on Thursday, August 27, 2009. Thomas was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Cajun craftsman who made and also collected knives. Thomas will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. Survivors include his wife, Haylea Guidroz Martin, of Lafayette; three sons, Tucker Martin, of Henderson, Thorne Martin, of Cecilia, and Jon Alec Martin, of Lafayette; three daughters, Mamie Cooke, and husband, Daniel, of Breaux Bridge, Jolie Daigle and Journey Martin, both of Lafayette; one step daughter, Kaitlyn Wells; one brother, Johnny Martin and wife, Sandra, of Parks; four sisters, Deanna Bienvenue and husband, Lloyd, Drucilla Buckner, and companion, Mary Ann Hayes, Priscille Harton and husband, Bryan, Mary Ann Romero and companion, Sammy, and Paula Bonin, all of Coteau Holmes; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Leroy Martin and Eola Patin Martin; his paternal grandparents, Alfred Martin and Aderiska Daigle; and maternal grandparents, Evela and John Patin, Sr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, and continue until time of service. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
