Thomas Lionel Voorhies

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Thomas Lionel Voorhies, 76, who died Monday, May 8, 2006 at Iberia General Hospital and Medical Center in New Iberia. Mr. Voorhies recently retired from Robin Motor Company in Jeanerette. He was a graduate of St. Peter's College in New Iberia. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Rita Durand Voorhies of St. Martinville; his sons, Jeffery Voorhies and his wife, Annette, Ted Voorhies and his wife, Nikki, all of Carencro, and Stephen Voorhies of St. Martinville; his daughters, Mary Kay Habetz and her husband, Tedmund, of Loreauville, Christine Johnson and her husband, Bill, and Patrice Voorhies all of Lafayette, and Michelle Belaire and her husband, Chris of St. Martinville; and his grandchildren, Jacob Morgan, Cayman Voorhies, Taylor Habetz, Morgan Habetz, Bradford Habetz, Alexandra Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Amber Hayes, Chloe Voorhies and Logan Belaire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. Voorhies, Sr. and Mabel Brown Voorhies; and his sisters, Joan Jensen and Dorothy Voorhies. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am Thursday, May 11, 2006 until time of service. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
