Parks - A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks for Tommy Anthony Prade Sr., 62, who passed away peacefully at his residence after a brave and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August 11, 2017. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Donovan Labb will officiate at the Memorial Service. Scripture readings will be done by Stephanie Prade Papillion. Gift bearers will be Tyler Prade and Lindsey Roberts. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Tommy was a native of St. Martinville and a longtime resident of Breaux Bridge. He worked at West Truck Sales for over 30 years as a great mechanic and paint and body man. He loved fishing, swimming, drag racing, flying remote control airplanes and watching western movies. Tommy always looked forward to attending Cruising on the Coast annually in Mississippi. He has a passion for watching his sons play musical instruments which allowed him to escape his hardship in life. His greatest enjoyment was creating memories with his two grandchildren. Tommy leaves a legacy of love that will not be forgotten. He is survived by his loving soulmate of 36 years, Gertrude Calais Prade; daughter, Tyra Prade Lemelle and husband Lanford; sons, Tommy Prade, Jr. and Tyler Prade; mother, Dorita Prade; brothers, Elridge Prade and wife Florence, Steven Prade and wife Barbara, Jerry Prade and Howard Prade, Jr. and wife Marie; grandchildren, Lanford Lemelle, Jr. and Laya Lemelle; Godchildren, Stephanie Prade Papillion and Anthony Colson; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard J. Prade, Sr.; nephew, Bobby Prade; uncles, Williams and Caldwell Prade Jr., James and Henry Cenance; aunts, Pearl and Ismay Prade, Doris Broussard, and Iola and Edna Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny West, Woody Gary, Francis Bourque, Ron Segura, James Gueho, Randy Maraist, Terry Prade, Roland Calais, Joey Lasseigne, and Wade Delahoussaye. Pellerin Funeral Home, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
