St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 15th, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St Martinville for Tracie Ann Barras Renard, 62, who passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at her residence, after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.

Tracie was born April 8, 1962 in St. Martinville, LA to Nolan and Rhona Judice Barras. She went to Trinity Catholic Elementary, Our Lady of Mercy High School, and graduated from St. Martinville High School in 1980. As a young adult, she was a cosmetologist and bartender at Ray Boys. She completed 2 years of college at USL before joining the Navy from 1988-1999 with 3 years of inactive duty. She was stationed at Whidbey Island, WA then was transferred to Cherry Point, NC. She climbed the ranks becoming an Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd class and finished as a Lieutenant. She completed her studies at East Carolina University-Greenville in 1998 with a nursing degree.

When she returned home, she married Leffrey Renard Jr. She worked for a year at Women's & Children's Hospital before moving to Iberia Medical Center, where she spent 25 years as a RN in the labor and delivery unit.

Tracie's passions were many; she enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching, crafting and creating/sending personalized cards. She enjoyed reading, studying the bible, nurturing/caring for her plants and doing CrossFit. She appreciated an amazing box of red wine and shopping. Perhaps one of her most treasured pastimes was attending sporting/recognition events for her girls and grandkids and taking trips with family and friends.

She just loved life and the people in it. She had an unparalleled ability to make anyone feel special, and her welcoming heart served as a safe haven for many.

Tracie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Leffrey Renard Jr; her daughters, Rebecca Renard, Kobie (Lee) Rhodes, Allie (Danna) Dore', Abbie (Skylar) Mouton and Kacie (Joseph) Breaux; her grandchildren, Joseph and Kohen Breaux, Demi and Dax Dore', Harper and Kolton Mouton, and Whitney and Weston Rhodes; her siblings, Inez and Vincent Barras; her niece, Angela Rockefeller; her nephew, Aaron Barras; and great nephews/niece.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Rhona Barras; her father-in-law, Leffrey Renard, Sr.; and her cousin/best friend, Lisa Wilson Wang.

Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who helped extend her life for the additional 2 more years we were granted with her.
