Vanessa Collins O'Loughlin

Jeanerette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at St. John the Evangelist in Jeanerette for Vanessa Collins O'Loughlin, 63, who passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 pm until 9 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 8 am until 9 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Monday. Fr. Jody Simoneaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The reader will be Patricia Doucet. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Vanessa Ann Collins O'Loughlin was born in Jeanerette, LA on September 23, 1953. She was the only daughter born to Norine and Englove Collins, Sr. She worked as a bookkeeper most of her life, and was the owner of Vanessa's Boutique. Vanessa enjoyed playing Pokeno and cards, going to the casino, dancing, camping, and boat riding, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family and friends, especially her daughters and granddaughter. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy O'Loughlin; daughters, Jamie Derise and husband, Ross, of Lydia, and Jerrica O'Loughlin of Lafayette; her granddaughter, Joslyn Derise of Lydia; her mother, Norine Derise Collins of Jeanerette; her father, Englove Collins, Sr. of Jeanerette; her brothers, Englove Collins, Jr. and wife, Melinda, of Patoutville, Patrick Collins, Sr. and wife, JoEllen, of Bayou Jack, Rene' Collins, Sr. of Jeanerette, Perrique Collins of Patoutville, and Tracy Collins of Jeanerette. She was preceded in death by her nephews, Joshua and Shawn Collins; her paternal grandparents, Bregelon and Lydia Collins; and her maternal grandparents, Paul and Eunice Derise. Pallbearers will be Ross Derise, Englove Collins Jr., Patrick Collins Sr., Rene' Collins Sr., Perrique Collins, and Tracy Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Rene' Latiolais, Steve Latiolais, and Morgan Latiolais. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Sarah Latiolais for her help and support during this difficult time. Also, special thanks to Dr. Alan Appley, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Hospice of Acadiana for excellent care given to Vanessa.
