Velta Colomb Guillotte

New Iberia - Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Velta Colomb Guillotte, 80, who passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, in Lafayette while surrounded by her devoted and supportive family. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. Entombment will follow Holy Family Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Friday. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Mrs. Guillotte was born on June 12, 1934 in Vermilion Parish, and was a resident of New Iberia. Besides being a devoted wife and loving mother of six, she was a retired Surgical Technician with over 40 years of service, having worked at Erath Memorial Hospital, Iberia General Hospital, and Iberia Orthopedic Clinic of New Iberia. A member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella, Mrs. Guillotte enjoyed playing Pokeno, and going to the casino. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Hubert A. Guillotte of New Iberia; three sons, Cordell Guillotte and wife Nancy of Houston, TX, Kendall Guillotte and wife Danette of New Iberia, LA, Troy Guillotte of Houston, TX; two daughters, Lisa G. Rawles and husband Jimmy of Houston, TX, Amy G. Ruiz and husband Fred of Friendswood, TX; three brothers, Presley Colomb and wife Anita of Erath, LA, Lester Colomb and wife Emma Dean of Erath, LA, Dalton Colomb and wife Carolyn of Erath, LA; sister, Louise Landry of Lafayette, LA; 8 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Colomb, and her mother, Annociade Touchet Colomb; a dauhgter, Jane E. Guillotte; sister, Irene C. Dore; and a brother, John Colomb. Pallbearers will be Blair Guillotte, Jeremy Guillotte, Brandon Guillotte, Drew Derouen, Fred Ruiz, Jimmy Rawles. Honorary pallbearer will be Alex Ruiz.
