Verde Mae Brown Sylvester

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Breaux Bridge Pentecostal Church in Breaux Bridge for Verde Mae Brown Sylvester, 65. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at church from 7:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday. Pastor Jonathan Haygood will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. She was a manager at Texaco and a bus driver for Smile. She loved raising her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included going to church, playing cards, watching T.V., cooking and spending quality time with her family. Verde was married to Joseph Paul Sylvester Sr. and to this union, 6 children was born. Verde's memory will be honored and cherished by her husband, Joseph Paul Sylvester Sr., five sons, Anthony Sylvester, Joseph Sylvester, Emanuel Sylvester, Samuel (Jennifer) Sylvester, all of Cecilia, and Marcus Sylvester of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Antoinette Sylvester of Cecilia; one brother, Felton Brown of Breaux Bridge; four sisters: Edna Charles of Arnaudville, Mary Julien, Rose M.B. Sylvester of Breaux Bridge, and Sue B. Aubert of South Carolina; 17 grandchildren that she took beneath her wings; 2 great grandchildren, and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Evelyn Brown; one grandchild, Martin Alexander; two sisters, Nola B. Ames and Lou A.
