Verina Theriot Daigle

July 13, 1939 — February 11, 2009

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Verina Theriot Daigle, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the funeral Mass. Verina loved working in her flower beds, reading, crocheting and spending time with the pride and joy of her life, Ashton and Heidi, her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her caregiving and nurturing spirit by providing care in her home for her mother, Adia, father, Romain, and her brother, "High Pocket". For many years "Black" and Verina were the primary caregivers to their family and friends. They unconditionally gave of their time and enjoyed doing fundraisers throughout the community for anyone in need. In return, Verina had received the same love she gave so graciously by being cared for by her loving husband in her residence for two years. She was comforted and surrounded by the love of her life. A "fighter in spirit," she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Roland "Black" Daigle, of Breaux Bridge; one son, Wendell J. Daigle, of Breaux Bridge, one brother, Olden "ToTo" Theriot, of Breaux Bridge, and two grandchildren, Ashton Daigle and Heidi Daigle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Romain and Adia F. Theriot; an infant brother; three brothers, Alfred "High Pocket" Theriot, Ludon "Colo" Theriot, and Ledia Theriot; and one sister, Edith Laviolette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from time 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at time 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Dale Theriot, T-Colo Theriot, Kevin Daigle, Chad Hardy, Dano Boudreaux, and Chris Laviolette. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
