Verler Laviolette Frederick

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, April 23, 2010, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Verler Laviolette Frederick, 80, who passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Father Austin Leger will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Heidi Robin and Charisse Hanchie. The Gift Bearers will be Kristy Bourque, Tracy Guidry, and Amber Frederick. Mrs. Frederick was a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America and was a faithful parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, listening to French music, and spending time with her family and friends. During Holy Week, she enjoyed attending retreats at Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau. Survivors include her son, Philip Frederick, Jr. and his wife, Renella Guidry Frederick, of Parks; her daughter, JoEllen Guidry and her husband, Lynn, of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, George Laviolette, Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Lafayette, and Raymond Laviolette and his wife, Joan, of California; two sisters, Lois Prosper, of New Iberia, and Lucy Toups, of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren, Kristy Bourque and her husband, Shannon, Tracy Guidry, and Amber Frederick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Frederick, Sr.; and her parents, Helena and George Laviolette, Sr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Philip Frederick, Jr., Lynn Guidry, Shannon Bourque, Steve Laviolette, Mark Toups, and Bucky Bonin. Honorary pallbearers will be George Laviolette, Jr., Raymond Laviolette, Mike Laviolette, Tim Bonin, Troy Toups, John Toups, Luke Bonin, Larry Guidry, and Chris Robin. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
