Verley Serrette

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson, for Verley Montet Serrette, 87, who passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue at 7:00 am until 12:45 pm on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm on Wednesday. Rev. Lawrence Abara will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Henderson. Mrs. Serrette, a devout Catholic, was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and enjoyed going to the casino. Verley was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose love was unconditional. 'We love you and will forever miss you.' She is survived by her husband, Joseph Connie Serrette of Breaux Bridge; her son, Jackie (Karen) Serrette of Breaux Bridge; two grandchildren, Jarrod (Crystal Thibodeaux) Serrette and Kim (Mike Polk) Serrette; two great grandchildren, Ava Gayle Serrette and Sai James Polk; her nephew, Brooke Nickel of Lafayette, and niece, Jodie Inwood of Chicago, IL; her great niece, Abby Nickel and great nephew, Jake Jeffrey, both of Lafayette. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bethmost and Lota Daigle Montet; and her sister, Elaine Nickel. Pallbearers will be Brooke Nickel, Jarrod Serrette, Charles Serrette, Lloyd Melancon, Mike Polk, and Phillip Serrette. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Patin, Dwayne Stutes, and Shawn Landry.
