Verley Mae Singleton

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Verley Mae Joe Singleton, 78, who passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at St. Martin Hospital. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Mrs. Singleton was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who opened her home to everyone. She provided for and raised her siblings, as though they were her own children. Survivors include three sons, Davis Singleton, Hubert Singleton, and Carroll James Singleton; one daughter, Mary Ann Singleton Roberts; three brothers, Wilbert Joe, Gary Joe, and Ronald Joe; three sisters, Tilly Roberts, Margie Joe, and Mary Joe; five grandchildren, Kevin Williams, Miranda Roberts, Joseph Steven Roberts, Theresa Singleton Celestine, and Alexis Faye Singleton; and 13 great grandchildren, Dimitri LeBlanc, Tiahnna Vallot, Trinity Gedward, Tristen Roberts, Naomi Monique Celestine, Kendall James Celestine, Amani Shanta Singleton, Darion Baker, Elijah Williams, Meya Williams, Gabriel Williams, Shaddaia Williams, Jada Williams, and Danavia Williams. She was preceded in death by her son, Herbert Singleton; mother, Ethel Frederick Joe; father, Joseph Joe; three brothers, George Linton Joe, Patrick Joe, and Willie Ray Joe; four sisters, Morrela Joe, Earline Joe Bruno, Vesta Joe, and Willie Mae Monette; and her husband, Joseph Promise Singleton. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening. Pallbearers will be Kevin James Williams, Carroll James Singleton, Hubert Singleton, Joseph Steven Roberts, Davis Singleton, Ronald Joe, and Kenneth Celestine.
