A devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Verly led her children by example into a strong faith in God. Her church and her family were the most important things in her life and it showed by the way she compassionately cared for others. Her children knew her as Mom, her grandchildren knew her as Maw, and often she reminded them that they were her sunshine. She never missed a birthday or anniversary and, even in her final days, still sang her cherished birthday song with her famous "Yay!" to conclude. The precious memories of Sunday dinners, outside in the garden and her beautiful personality will never be forgotten. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and adored her. Her daily presence will be truly missed, but her legacy will live on through her family and the memories they all hold dear.
Survivors include her children: Delores and Ray Boudreaux, Janel and John Boudreaux, Jr., Peggy and Daniel Vice, Susan and Michael Broussard, and Terry and Vickie Courville; grandchildren, Mark (Crystal), Don (Vicky), Ben (Joy), Remy (Cherie), Luke (Christina), Sara (Greg), Jenny, Ryan (Jodie), Nicholas (Lucette), Alex (Jamie), Kathryn (Randy), Stephen, Rachel (Dane), Justin (Sandra), Jared (Ashley), Jace (Ashley), Jordy (Samantha), Taylor, Tyler and Anita; 33 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Guidry; and one foster sister, Verna Boyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander "T-Son" Courville; parents, Yola and Felix Wiltz; step-father, Remie Hayes; sister, Verna Babineaux; grandchildren, Nicole, Sean, Brett and Alison, and 11 great grandchildren.
Verly's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Father Blake Dubroc for his love and spiritual care. The family would also like to thank Heart of Hospice and all those who have helped in caring for Verly.
