Verna Mae Theriot Angelle

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Verna Mae Theriot Angelle, 72, who passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral Mass. Verna Mae was retired as a Cafeteria Manager with the St. Martin Parish School Board and also worked at the family business, Whiskey River Landing, for many years. She loved listening to Cajun music. Verna Mae was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her yard, where she nurtured her flowers, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her companion of many years, Wilson. Survivors include her companion, Wilson Stelly, of Cecilia; her son, Eddie Dean Angelle, of Cecilia; her mother, Clothilde Trahan Theriot, of Cecilia; one brother, Wilson Theriot and wife, Gertie, of Youngsville; and three sisters, Mazel T. Boudreaux, of Parks, Melba Jean T. Laviolette and husband, Bernard, Sr., of Catahoula, and Beverly T. Amy and husband, Sosthene, of Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Batiste Angelle; her father, Theodore Theriot; and an infant son. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 7 a.m until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Bernard Laviolette, Jr., Keith Wyndell Boudreaux, Wilson Stelly, Jr., Dwight Angelle, Ricky Joseph Douet, Alvin Berard, and Dirk Angelle. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Angelle, Wilson Theriot, and Kenneth Broussard. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
