Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 1, 2019, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Verna Guidry Huval, 88, who passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday and continue on Friday at 7:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Emma Bonin and Lillie Sonnier. Gift bearers will be Kalli Hunt, Sadie LeBlanc, and Meagan Bonin.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Verna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing bingo and taking trips to the casino. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Cindy and Susan Guidry and Hospice of Acadiana for their care and support. Verna will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Huval and wife Kathy, Anthony "Navet" Huval and wife Sara, Charles "Buck" Huval and companion Danielle Gary, and Jamie "Beany" Huval and wife Nancy; daughter, Marella Huval Trahan and husband Tim; grandchildren, Jake Huval and spouse Danielle, Kalli Huval Hunt and spouse Clyde, Christian Derouen, Sadie Huval LeBlanc and spouse Nick, Josh Huval, Zack Huval, Meagan Huval Bonin and spouse Ryan, Cody Huval, Samuel Trahan, Alex Trahan, William Trahan, Trenton Huval and spouse Desiree, and Luke Huval; great grandchildren, Lillie Sonnier, Emma Bonin, Adam Barras, Reese Huval, Nathan LeBlanc, Quinn Bonin, Jorie Huval, Nixon LeBlanc, Bennett Huval, Violet Hunt, Henry Trahan, Sealy LeBlanc, Stella Bonin, Connor Hunt, and Melinda Hunt; sister, Elaine Guidry Landry and husband Harris; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Thibodeaux Huval and Audrey Breaux Huval.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Huval; daughter, Lisa Huval; grandchildren, Cain Huval, Lucy Trahan, and Lola Huval; parents, Oscar and Euphraise Landry Guidry; sisters, Una Guidry Cormier (Jack), Eunice Guidry Blanchard (Drozin), Edna Guidry Blanchard (Abel), and Jean Guidry Melancon (Joseph); and brothers, John Guidry (Odette), and Dewey Guidry (Lillian).
Pallbearers will be Jake Huval, Christian Derouen, Josh Huval, Zack Huval, Cody Huval, Samuel Trahan, Alex Trahan, William Trahan, and Luke Huval.
Honorary pallbearer will be Trenton Huval.
