Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Verna B. LeBlanc, 95, who passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at her residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:00 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.
Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. Verna was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, St. Bernard Hospitality Ministry, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband visited the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed dressing up her yard with an exquisite line of daylilies that gave her joy throughout her life. Verna looked forward to having coffee in the afternoons with her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Jody Neil LeBlanc and wife Elizabeth "Liz", and Shane Paul LeBlanc and wife Lena, all of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Cheryl L. Angelette and husband Russell of Breaux Bridge; her grandchildren, Monica Angelette of Lafayette, Gregory Angelette of Breaux Bridge, Ian LeBlanc of Broussard, Elliott LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge, and Lori B. Dartez of Breaux Bridge; and her great grandchildren, Paige Angelette, Dylan Angelette, Emerson LeBlanc, Hudson LeBlanc, Evelyn LeBlanc, Griffin LeBlanc, Riley Dartez, and Sydney Dartez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harry LeBlanc; her parents, Clement and Editha Lanerie Bergeron; and her sister, Louella Latiolais and her husband, Enol Latiolais.
Pallbearers will be Jody Neil LeBlanc, Shane Paul LeBlanc, Gregory Angelette, Ian LeBlanc, Elliott LeBlanc, and Dylan Angelette.
Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Angelette, Garland Latiolais, Tommy Latiolais, Barry Latiolais, Ronald Broussard, Curtis LeBlanc, and Richard LeBlanc.
