St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Victor Mallery, 90, who passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Victor was a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and brought communion to many parishioners who were homebound. He was also a member of the Ushers’ Society. Victor worked for the St. Martin Parish School System for 33 ½ years as a Food Service Delivery Driver and he took great pride in his everyday deliveries. As a pastime, he enjoyed gardening, watching football, especially the 49ers, and spending time with his family and friends, while telling stories of the past. Victor will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Skipper Mallery; daughters, Elleanor Batiste and husband Joseph of St. Martinville and Sarah Allen and husband Wayne of Cade; brothers, Larry Mallery and wife Mary of Houston, TX and Morris Mallery and wife Bessie of St. Martinville; sisters, Edmonia Batiste and husband Eric of St. Martinville and Mary Etienne of St. Martinville; grandchildren, Tiffany James, Kristin Mallery, Victoria Louviere, Alana Allen, Sydnie Allen, Amari Allen, and Mallori Allen; and his great grandchildren, Riley James, Coby James, Jr., Skylar Louviere, and Tori Louviere.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Edmonia Guidry Mallery; brothers, Calvin, Ivan and Merrick Mallery; and his sisters, Dorothy Francois, Myrtle Porter, and Doris Mallery.
