Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Vida Mae Noel Babineaux, 65, who died on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Fr. James Fallon will officiate at the funeral Mass. The reader will be Josepha Wiltz.
Vida enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, as well as going eat out. She loved baking and spending time with her family and friends. A devout Catholic, Vida prayed the Rosary on a daily basis, offering her prayers for those in need. She was known to be the peace maker and would often tell her family, Make sure you all stay together.
Survivors include one son, Clifton Babineaux (Stephanie), of Breaux Bridge; five daughters, Hilda Zenon (Fredrick), of Breaux Bridge, Linda Wiltz (Wallace), of St. Martinville, Doris Wiltz (Gilbert), of St. Martinville, Tricia Williams (Leander), of Breaux Bridge, and Christianna Broussard (Joseph), of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Allen Noel (Mildred), of New Iberia; one sister, Nola Noel (Wilson), of Carencro; her dearest grandson, Frederick James, Jr.; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Bertha Ames Noel, Sr.; her husband, Clifton Babineaux; two brothers, Steven and James Noel; and two sisters, Mary Miller and Olivia Williams.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday evening.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Noel, Jason Noel, Shelton Miller, Corey Wiltz, Norris Celestine, Jr., and William Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fredrick J. Zenon, Wallace C. Wiltz, Marvin Zenon, Clifton D. Babineaux, III, ;Derrick Wiltz, ;Dion Williams, and John Miller.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
