Vida was a great many things to many people, but above all, she was always a kind and loyal friend. She never met someone that she didn’t immediately hug and call family. Even the nurses and doctors that she met during this journey, she would hug and tell them “Thank you!” before she left.
Vida was proud of her job at John’s Nursery and when she worked at the bank. She made many friends while working at both places.
Her true loves were going on trips with her twin sister, football games with her daughter, visits at the nursery, and spending time with her family and friends. Her absolute favorite day of the year was the annual Doré Christmas Party where she could visit with all of her sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She loved her family dearly, and her cats and pups, Melvin and Petey.
Although Vida was known to be a feisty, sassy, and stubborn lady, she was very much-loved and was entertaining up until the very last breath of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Gary and partner (Charles “Buck” Huval); grandchild, Charlee Marie Huval; brother, Ted E. Doré (Lori); twin sister, Velma D. Huval (Tommy); sisters, Maureen "Moe" Bearb (Wayne), Flo D. Comb, Millie D. Picard (Larry), Gina D. Dupuis (Ames Pete Jr.), and Iris D. Doré (Randy).
She was preceded in death by her mother, May Gondron Doré; and father, Dudley J. Doré.
Pallbearers will be Patrick W. Huval, Griffin L. Huval, Jordan T. Huval, Kelly Comb, Casey Comb, and Annette Romero.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ted E. Doré, Thomas K. Huval, Charles L. Huval, Wayne Bearb, Larry Picard, Ames Pete Dupuis Jr., and Randy Doré.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Heart of Hospice, 1100 Bertrand Dr., Ste. A, Lafayette, LA 70506.
