Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Vincent Joseph “Vee” Batiste, 57 years old, who passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Ochsner University Hospital & Clinics. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday, August 13, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m.Rev. George Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Danita Alexander and Tiffany James.Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2. Vincent Joseph “Vee” Batiste was born December 2, 1963, in Lafayette, Louisiana to the union of Agnes Demouchet-Batiste and the late McKinley J. Batiste. He was the baby boy of nine siblings. Vincent was a remarkable and selfless father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend. He had a passion for socializing, dancing, cooking, baking, horse racing, and playing cards with family and friends. He cherished his family, especially his grandkids, and enjoyed spending time with them. His jovial demeanor, welcoming spirit, and fun-loving personality provided many years of amazing memories.Vincent leaves to mourn his passing and cherish unforgettable memories his mother, Agnes Demouchet-Batiste; children: Joshua Marshall, Cedric (Brittanie Wiltz) Batiste, Jaleel (Traylon) Batiste of St. Martinville, Louisiana, and Terence (Victoria) Batiste of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; grandchildren; Daaron, Ja’Nyia, Da’Kyron, Devron, and Devon Marshall, Syrai, Cassidy, Ethan, Drew, Mila, Jay’lon, Ty’lin, and Jhace Batiste; three sisters: Prenella Batiste-Charles of Lafayette, Louisiana, Norma (Raymond) James and Tammy Lewis of St. Martinville, Louisiana; four brothers: Lionel and John Allen Batiste of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Arthur (Jeanice) Batiste of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Camille (Shirley) Batiste of Evans, Georgia; godchildren: Nakia Batiste-Green, Keyra Adams, and De’Liyah Williams; aunts: Sophie Shy and Linda (Wil Bradley) Ledet of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; uncle, James Demouchet; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, McKinley J. Batiste; granddaughter, Adelynn Elaine Batiste; brothers: Wilbert J. Batiste and Raymond Daniel Batiste; sister: Rebecca Ann Batiste-Gale; maternal grandparents: Harrison and Mary Williams Demouchet; paternal grandparents: Adam and Marie Vallier Batiste; brothers-in-law, Raymond J.
