Vinson Morin

Henderson - Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, in Henderson for Vinson Morin, 76, who died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at his residence in Henderson. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, in Henderson. A retired cook, Mr. Morin also worked as a meat cutter and butcher. He proudly served our country in the US Army, during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and most of all cooking. Survivors include his daughters, Samatha Richard and husband Jerry of Henderson, Brenda Castille and husband Audie of Breaux Bridge; step daughters, Linda Daigle and husband Wayne of Henderson, Debbie Blackwell and husband Jeff of Baton Rouge, Wanda Webster and husband Reggie of San Diego, CA; brother, Wayne Morin of Gonzales, LA; sisters, Helen Ardoin of Thibodeaux, Mary Templet of St. Amant, Doris Ducote of Manchack; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Octiva Morin; mother, Corine Landry; daughter, Cathy Morin; brothers, Hermon James, Alton Morin, James ""Jimmy"" Morin; sister, Alice James. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 AM on Tuesday and continue at until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
