New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Virgin Mary Landry, 61, who died Sunday, January 4, 2009 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Born on September 29, 1947 in New Iberia, Virgin Mary enjoyed life, playing bingo, and going to the casino. Survivors include her daughters, Lelia Marie Deslatte and fianc Jude Broussard, Angelique Hulin and companion Chantel Landry, Monique Deslatte and fianc Craig Maturin all of New Iberia; son, Bobby Deslatte and fianc Paulette Pepper of New Iberia; brothers, Sidney Guilbeaux, Fils Guilbeaux, Paul Guilbeaux all of New Iberia; sister, Lillian Dugas of Grand Coteau; best friend, Theresa Feqouia of New Iberia; 9 grandchildren, Hope Deslatte, Trey Deslatte, Lexi Deslatte, Kelsey Eckelberger, Kaylan Longee, Gage Maturin, Nick Maturin, Brittany Maturin, Seth Maturin, Kolby Broussard, Maci Peltier, Jaci "Tootie" Peltier, Brandon Landry, and Jared Landry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adelbert and Lelia Bourque Landry; husband, Peter Rogers Deslatte; brothers, Emile Guilbeaux, Henry Guilbeaux; sister, Electa Granger. Pallbearers will be Robert Deslatte, Craig Maturin, Angelique Hulin, Greg Johnson, Deuce Romero, and Kolby Broussard. Honorary Pallbearers include Gage Maturin, Jared Landry, Brandon Landry, and Trey Deslatte. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00AM Wednesday.
